Acupuncture is a gentle technique used to ease pain, balance emotions, and relieve stress. The practice has been around for centuries and is based on the concept that Qi (“chee”), the body’s innate life force energy, flows throughout your entire body along pathways called meridians.

When these meridians, or channels, are blocked or obstructed in any way, as a result of physical injury, emotional trauma, or unhealthy lifestyle habits, we experience symptoms. These symptoms can range from physical pain, digestive upset, and lack of energy to hormonal imbalances, emotional instability, and brain fog.

Acupuncture is used to remove these obstructions and rebalance the entire system through a combination of electromagnetic resonance and energetic flow. Instead of thinking of acupuncture from a biochemical standpoint (involving enzymes, neurotransmitters, and other cellular mediators), think of it more from a bio-physical standpoint involving electromagnetic fields, vibrations, and waves.

I offer private acupuncture sessions to established patients through discounted packages. You can purchase 4-12 sessions at a time – choose your bundle here.

Is it safe?

Acupuncture is generally very safe. Serious side effects are exceedingly rare. Dr. Michelle uses only sterile, disposable, single-use needles and maintains a clean and safe environment.

Will it hurt?

Acupuncture should never hurt. During your treatment I will explain everything I’m doing, and let you know what sensations are expected. Many times, you may feel a dull or heavy sensation at a particular point, and this is a good response – it means that we are moving Qi and balancing that meridian. You may not even feel anything at all!

Do I have to take off my clothes?

You may undress to your comfort level. As a physician, I respect your privacy and comfort level. Many times, I only use points on the extremities, which removes the need to undress entirely. The beauty of the acupuncture meridian system is that you can access any part of the body through points located in a totally different areas.
